DJ, BRAND AMBASSADOR AND POWER PLAYER
By Ambre 'MzGreenEyez' Tomlinson
When discussing true power moves in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area one would be remiss to not only mention but truly highlight the work of David Jack AKA DJ Two4our. His accomplishments in the entertainment industry have been piling up over the last few years, especially now as he takes on his new role as the brand ambassador and DMV field representative for New Balance apparel.
DJ Two4our developed a deep appreciation for music when he was 13 years old. He purchased his first turntables and began practicing and perfecting his deejaying skills early on. He began feeling out crowds and testing his mixes at smaller events and house parties. The positive vibes from the audience were a clear indication that he was on the right path. Mixing and melding music to serve as the heartbeat to the party was his calling. He has always had an equally yoked affinity for two areas: Music and Fashion. For many years he had been a true sneakerhead taking pride and interest in his fit throughout the years. He yearned to meld his two passions together and continued to work hard for a way to make this possible.
DJ Two4our is now decidedly one of the area’s top DJs, performing at large arena venues as well as some of the area's hottest lounges, bars, and clubs. He has made featured appearances and performances on 106 and Park, the MTV Music Awards, and the For Sisters Only conference. When asked about the proudest moment in his career DJ Two4our recalls his experience as a guest DJ for the Kevin Hart “What Now” tour.
As if this wasn't enough to label him a power player DJ Two4our also previously held the title of official DJ for the Washington Wizards and Mystics, NBA and WNBA teams. During NBA basketball season he could be found enthusiastically engaging the audience in crowd participation during each home game.
As a previous brand ambassador for New Era caps DJ Two4our has donated New Era merchandise to children while deejaying at several school events. DJ Two4our is not only a musician and businessman but a role model for youth as well. When he is not on the road he enjoys mentoring children and educating them on the many possibilities for growth and stability through hard work and determination. As a brand ambassador for Midieast, the premier recording studio and artist branding company in northern Virginia, He has been heavily involved in breast cancer awareness campaigns advertised by the company. He also served as a direct liaison for artist development and consultation.
New Balance apparel reached out to the young DJ impressed with the work he had done promoting these brands as well as his own on social media. The company felt he would be a great fit as a field rep and brand ambassador. DJ Two4our now models for advertising spreads, provides major artists with merchandise, travels on tour with national recording artists and still holds speaking engagements; visiting and talking with high school students about chasing their dreams during school-wide assemblies. Recently DJ Two4our was a guest on the Millenium tour with Pretty Ricky and B2K. He provided New Balance merchandise for all the artists on the tour as well as many others this past year including recording artists Swae Lee and Da Baby.
When asked about his favorite part of his new position he said, "There is no one favorite part. I enjoy every part of it whole-heartedly. I love helping a brand I believe in grow within my community." During the next steps of his career, DJ Two4our strives for continued growth within the New Balance company and has even entertained the idea of acting in major motion pictures. I asked whether his dream-come-true was all he had hoped for and DJ Two4our simply replied, "Definitely yes. Without a doubt."
